I’ve installed the ‘N’ version of Windows 10 Professional and this is not installed by default so I am curious to know why this is forced to stay. If anyone knows why Microsoft is making it so that this application cannot be removed from Windows please comment below. Get-appxpackage -allusers | where | remove-appxpackage It’s installed under the name “Miracast view” as an appxpackage, which Microsoft has unfortunately denied you access to remove in PowerShell. I’m not quite sure why, but when you attempt to remove the application it does not give you the option: You cannot, disconnect, The taskbar is not clickable. you go out of range or you remove the Miracast Stick before you disconnet the windows device.
When you create a Miracast connection and when you lose the connection e.g. Microsoft has made it difficult to remove them. we have detected a problem with your miracast source implementation. So we end up with the following rules together with the Contact Support app and Feedback app as I have in my Group Policy since Windand 1511.The Windows 10 Creators Update brought a handful of new built-in apps. In the Group Policy add a new Package app rule for the Connect app If you are doing that already we only need to edit the Group Policy and add the following app as well. We can block it using Group Policy as I have described before with the Contact Support app and Microsoft Feedback app. If we try to uninstall it, we get the following message, that it is part of the Operating System and cannot be removed. The connect app turns your PC into a Miracast Receiver, which can be useful but not really in an enterprise. Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command.
